May 3, 2004

Tyrexpo Asia 2004 recorded a 33% increase in exhibitor floor space compared with the last show in 2001, according to show organizers.

The exhibit, held February 17-19, had more than 100 companies participating, reports ECI International. And nearly 3,000 visitors from 63 countries attended the exhibition, representing a growth rate of nearly 60% compared to the 1,900 who attended the 2001 show.

"We are delighted with the progress we have made this year and are pleased that so many exhibitors had a successful time at Tyrexpo Asia," said Paul Farrant, managing director of ECI International. "We are particularly pleased at the success we have had in creating a well-balanced exhibition, representing all parts of the tire industry."

Some of the exhibitors included Kenda Rubber, Federal Corp., PT Gajah Tunggal and PT Mega Tires as well as a number of tire manufacturers from China. Also present were a large number of tire wholesalers. The retreading industry was represented by companies such as Italmatic and Kraiburg, and the tire and wheel sector included Rema Tip Top.

The fifth Typrexpo Asia will take place at the Singapore Expo Centre Sept. 13-15, 2005. For more information, see the Web site www.eci-international.com, call 44 (0) 1892 770777 or e-mail [email protected].
