Cooper Tire realigns marketing department

April 28, 2004

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., following the announced realignment of its tire group, has now made additional changes in the sales and marketing department of its North American Tire Division. As with the other changes (see "Top News" item), the moves are effective May 1.

"With our continued critical focus on the North American tire market, it is imperative that we have strong leadership within our sales and marketing organization," said Dick Stephens, president of the North American Tire Division.

Phillip Caris, formerly vice president of marketing, has been promoted to vice president of sales and marketing.

In addition, Carl Casalbore, formerly vice president of retail sales and high performance tire development, has been promoted to vice president of marketing and retail sales.

Casalbore will be involved in marketing services, product marketing, retail store operations, customer relationship management, North American advertising, and North American business development.

"Carl will continue to lead our high performance development efforts, as well as ensure our marketing presence is consistent with a high performance image," says Stephens.

Both assignments are part of "a realignment within Cooper's tire group to better focus on target markets, support the company's strategic plan and ensure the right resources are in place to grow the tire business globally," adds the company.
