Monro Muffler Brake Inc. is "excited that we will benefit fully from Mr. Tire during its seasonally strong period," says Monro CEO and President Robert Gross.

Monro closed its acquisition of 36 Mr. Tire locations in and around the Baltimore, Md., area on March 1, one month ahead of schedule.

Monro also owns and operates Kimmel Automotive and Tread Quarters tire stores in the Maryland/Virginia region.

Gross says the Rochester, N.Y.-based company is looking at other possible tire dealership acquisitions.

Meanwhile, Monro expects a 3% to 4% sales increase this month and $345 million to $355 million in total sales for the full year.

"Our tire, commercial and miscellaneous service businesses continue to provide opportunities to increase sales."

Monro also owns nearly a dozen former Frasier Tire Service Inc. retail outlets, which now operate under the Tread Quarters banner.
