Greensboro, N.C.-based Snider Tire Inc. has signed a letter of intent to acquire WNC Tire Inc. of Asheville, N.C.
WNC Tire operates one tire store, plus a Bandag retread plant.
"Additional details of the transaction will not be disclosed until the transaction has been completed, which is expected within 45 days," say Snider officials.
Snider Tire has 19 outlets and eight Bandag plants throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Ohio, Indiana, Arkansas and Texas.
It is the 11th largest retreader in the United States, producing 1,250 medium truck and 40 light truck units per day, according to Modern Tire Dealer's 2004 Top 100 U.S. Retreaders list, which appears in the April 2004 edition of MTD.
