Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. will roll out Avon Tyres U.S.A. -- a new collection of performance passenger, light truck, sport truck and motorsports tires -- this spring.
The Avon Tyres U.S.A. line-up will include the AVON Tech, an ultra-high performance line that includes:
* the Tech M500, a Z-rated, asymmetrical summer tire;
* the Tech R, a high-traction tire approved for road and Sports Car Club of America-style racing.
Both will roll out in late spring. Another product, the Tech ST high performance light truck tire, will be available this fall.
Avon Tyres U.S.A. products will initially be sold through The Tire Rack's national retail and wholesale distribution network.
South Bend, Ind.-based Tire Rack collected and analyzed consumer feedback data used in the tires' design and development, according to Cooper officials.
"Our Avon brand has been successfully sold in Europe for many years spurred on by the rich heritage of racing throughout Europe in various open wheel series," says Cooper CEO, Chairman and President Tom Dattilo.
"The time is right to capitalize on that expertise in the U.S. and Canadian markets and we believe Tire Rack is the right retailer to do just that."
