The United States Senate will soon be looking at the Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act, also known as SB 2138.
SB 2138 is a companion bill to HR 2735; both would allow drivers to choose where, how and by whom to have their vehicles repaired and whose parts they wish to purchase.
"This is a win-win legislation for all consumers who wish to exercise their rights on their own property -- this time, their vehicles," says David Parde, president of the Coalition (CARE) for Auto Repair Equality, who supports the bill.
CARE represents a variety of aftermarket companies like NAPA, Midas, AutoZone, Jiffy Lube and others.
