Initial feedback from the fourth Tyrexpo Asia, which took place at the Singapore Expo Centre on February 17-19, has shown the exhibition has achieved substantial growth since the last show in 2001.
Exhibitor booth space was up 33% over the last Tyrexpo Asia, with more than 100 companies exhibiting. Attendance grew from 1,900 in 2001 to nearly 3,000 visitors from 63 countries -- an increase of nearly 60%.
Paul Farrant, managing director of ECI International, the UK-based organizers of the show, said, "We are delighted with the progress we have made this year and are pleased that so many exhibitors have had a successful time at Tyrexpo Asia. We are particularly pleased at the success we have had in creating a well-balanced exhibition, representing all parts of the tyre industry."
Show organizers said Tyrexpo Asia has achieved industry-wide support.
Exhibitors included major regional tire manufacturers such as Federal Corp., Kenda Rubber, PT Gajah Tunggal and PT Mega Tires as well as a number of manufacturers from China, and a large number of tire wholesalers including Stamford Tyres, Global Traco, Mindtrac, and Omni United.
Retreading industry exhibitors included Italmatic, Newera, Kraiburg and Elgitread, and the tire and wheel servicing sector was represented by companies such as Rema Tip Top, Tech, Hock Lee Trading and Liew Koon.
Exhibiting for the first time was the East Malaysian retreading company Big Wheel, who used the exhibition to launch their new Side Seal Technology, providing demonstrations of their envelope-free curing process within the exhibition hall.
The fifth Tyrexpo Asia will take place Sept. 13-15, 2005, at the Singapore Expo Centre.
