Jack Williams Tire adds second high performance shop

Feb. 25, 2004

Jack Williams Tire Co. Inc., a 23-store chain based in Scranton, Pa., has acquired Auto Additions in Allentown, Pa.

According to President Bill Williams, high performance tires are predicted to represent 25% of the total potential replacement tire market by 2007. Based on projections from the Rubber Manufacturers Association, that could total 57 million tires.

Auto Additions is an auto performance shop specializing in high performance tires, wheels, exhaust and suspension parts and related accessories. It is the fifth Jack Williams Tire location in Lehigh Valley.

The company does business in Northeast and Central Pennsylvania. It has three new locations under construction; they are scheduled to open later this year.

Jack Williams Tire opened its first high performance center in August 2003. For more information on the subject, visit our "Features" achive, or check out the October 2003 issue of Modern Tire Dealer.
