Rising costs force Kumho to raise prices

Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. will increase tire prices effective Feb. 1, 2006. Kumho's passenger, light truck and commercial truck prices will increase up to 6%, depending on the tire model.

David Hudrlik, vice president and director of sales, cited continuing price increases for raw materials and rising shipping costs as the reason for the increase. Kumho last raised prices on June 1, 2005.

Michelin North America Inc. also will raise consumer tire prices on Feb. 1. Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co., Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp., Hankook Tire America Corp., Yokohama Tire Corp. and Continental Tire North America Inc. announced they will raise tire prices effective Jan. 1.
