Chabill's opens 11th retail location

Nov. 23, 2005

Chabill's Tire Service recently purchased a new location in Crowley, La. Formerly known as Manuel Tire Co., the store represents the dealership's 11th retail outlet.

Chabill's Tire Service opened for business in 1968 in Morgan City, La. Since that time, it has expanded to include the following retail locations in southern Louisiana: two each in Houma and Lafayette, and one each in Thibodaux, Morgan City, Bayou Vista, Franklin, New Iberia, Broussard and now Crowley. The 11 outlets serve a population of nearly one million people, according to the company.

Chabill's also operates a corporate headquarters and warehousing facility in Morgan City, and employs 100 people.

It stocks, sells and services Michelin, BFGoodrich, Uniroyal, Cooper and Goodyear products. "The strength of the Goodyear tire line is very meaningful to our company, and all of our stores' personnel are excited about the sales opportunities Goodyear brings to their market," says Charley Gowland, founder and co-owner.

Plans call for additional expansion through acquisition and new construction. In addition, the Crowley location is undergoing a facelift both inside and out.
