Brembo North America's new Easy:Check makes it easy to determine if brake discs, or rotors, are worn enough to require replacement.
The key innovation of the new Brembo Easy:Check is the unique wear indicators -– two small holes of different depths machined into the face of the disc. When the first hole disappears, it indicates that 80% of the usable disc surface has been expended. When the second hole disappears, the disc needs to be replaced immediately.
Brembo Easy:Check thus provides a definitive indication of wear rates, enabling car owners and service technicians to ensure vehicle safety by checking disc wear more regularly, the company says. Second, it reminds car owners of the importance of regular brake system check-ups and the need to replace worn components. Third, it provides techs with a clear means to support the customer’s trust that a repair is actually needed.
Brembo Easy:Check will be offered on every disc listed within the Brembo range, from subcompacts to supercars.
In order to better understand the ease of using Brembo Easy:Check, the new discs come with an explanatory leaflet for the car owner and an adhesive sticker that can be applied inside the car’s door as a reminder that two visible holes equals "ok"; one visible hole means "check up required"; and no visible hole means "immediate
replacement."
