Singapore's Stamford Tyres taps Seidel

Oct. 11, 2005

Singapore-based Stamford Tyres Corp. Ltd. has named Jim Seidel chief operating officer and vice president of its Stamford Tires & Wheels Inc. subsidiary.

Seidel will be responsible for sales organization, research, product development, manufacturing and logistics for Stamford's commercial tire business in North America.

He left Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA) this past June while serving as CTNA's director of passenger and light truck dealer sales.

"We have been trying to identify a person for our North American operations, one who could focus on building the company's tire business while continuing the progress made by our alloy wheels business unit," says Wee Kok Wah, Stamford Tyres president.

"Jim has a keen business sense and a positive and constructive way of working with associates, dealers, fleets and community leaders."

Stamford Tires & Wheels develops, builds and markets Firenza and Sumo brand passenger and light truck tires, commercial tires and its own wheel lines.

Its parent company, Stamford Tyres, was founded in the 1930s. Stamford Tyres distributes product in more than 30 countries while operating nearly 20 retail outlets in Singapore.
