The American Commercial Tire Network (ACTN) has donated $20,000 to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, with $10,000 going to the American Red Cross and the other half going to the Salvation Army.

"A lot of our members have made significant contributions on their own," says ACTN President John Snider.

ACTN members include Belle Tire Distributors, Bob Sumerel Tire Co., Boulevard Tire, Commercial Tire Inc., Cross-Midwest Tire, Custom Bandag, McCarthy Tire Service, McGriff Treading Co., Parkhouse Tire, Pete's Tire Barns, Pomp's Tire Service, Raben Tire Co., Redburn Tire Co., Snider Tire Inc., Southern Tire Mart, Valley Tire and White Tire Distributors.

Together, ACTN members operate 320 service locations, more than 75 retread plants and 1,700 service vehicles throughout 41 states.

ACTN was founded in 1999 to create a nationwide emergency road service network for commercial vehicles.
