The launch of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.'s Fortera with TripleTred Technology "is historic for Goodyear," Goodyear Chairman and CEO Bob Keegan told some 200 dealers yesterday in Phoenix, Ariz.
"While we have introduced new products in mid-year and we've introduced multiple products in the same year, they're not like the high-impact tires we launched in 2005," he said.
Keegan was referring to Goodyear's introduction of Wrangler featuring SilentArmor Technology and Fortera featuring SilentArmor Technology this past February.
Three years ago, according to Keegan, "we wanted the ability to launch new tires with a speed and frequency that was unmatched in the industry.
"For us, the Fortera with TripleTred is very important. And it's just the next differentiated new product in what will be a long line of innovation."
The Fortera with TripleTred Technology is available in 12 sizes that fit the most popular SUVs, say Goodyear officials.
