Sept. 1, 2005

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has announced three promotions within its marketing group that will "strengthen the organization, continue Cooper's growth in ultra-high performance products and increase penetration among retailers in the North American market," say Cooper officials.

James Keller has been named vice president, marketing for North America. "Keller, a 22-year Cooper veteran, will take on the important challenge of ensuring that Cooper's products, customer service and marketing programs are in step with the market and exceed customers' expectations."

He most recently served as vice president, competition and enthusiast products, and also supervised the operation of Cooper's Mickey Thompson Performance Tires and Wheels unit.

Philip Kortokrax has been named general manager of Mickey Thompson. A 15-year Cooper veteran, he also will direct, administer and coordinate the activities of Cooper's motorsports program in North America. He most recently served as Cooper's director of internal audit.

Christopher Pantani has been named director, UHP marketing and business development. He will be responsible "for helping identify new customers and potential relationships for the continued growth of Cooper's house brand products. He will retain his responsibilities in the UHP and retail marketing areas as well as continuing to work with the sales teams to better develop UHP sales opportunities."

He's been with Cooper since 2003.
