Aug. 30, 2005

Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. has created a new corporate structure for its operations in North America. Toyo Tires International (TTI) will oversee the entire network of Toyo Tire holdings, including: Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp., Toyo Tire North America, Nitto Tire North America and Nitto Tire Mexico.

Since the creation of Toyo Tire (U.S.A.) Corp. -- the first overseas sales subsidiary for a Japanese tire manufacturer -- in 1966, the Toyo brand has undergone significant growth in the U.S. market, according to the company. Nitto Tire North America was established in 2000.

In 2004, Toyo Group broke ground for a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Bartow County, Ga. Known as Toyo Tire North America, this plant will further meet the increased demand for passenger car and light truck tires in North America.

Carlos Kibata, former president of Toyo Tire (U.S.A.), has been promoted to president of Toyo Tires International, overseeing the brand's entire North American operations. Iori Suzuki has been appointed senior vice president general counsel for TTI.

In addition, Masaharu Yoshimoto, former president of Toyo Tire, Australia, has been promoted to CEO and president of Toyo Tire (U.S.A.).

"This new corporate structure ensures Toyo Group's commitment to the North American market with investments in manufacturing and warehouse facilities on U.S. soil," says Kibata. "Toyo Tires is dedicated to providing quality products for the North American consumer through our company's loyal network of independent tire dealers."

The Toyo Group is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year.
