YokoMania! proves a success at Tire Wholesalers Inc.

Aug. 8, 2005

Tire Wholesalers Inc. (TWI) and Yokohama Tire Corp. gave away more than $10,000 as part of the recently completed YokoMania! program.

The grand prize winner of the two-month program, designed to reward Yokohama customers, was Braden Tire of Bad Axe, Mich., which won a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

During the YokoMania! promotion, every 24-tire order qualified the dealer for a $50 gift certificate to Best Buy and a chance to win the Harley Davidson motorcycle. For every 48-tire order, the dealer received a $100 gift certificate to Best Buy.

And for a 100-tire purchase, the dealer received a Sony Home Theater system.

TWI and Yokohama also gave away tickets to Detroit Tiger baseball games. The promotion ran from June 6 to August 5, 2005.

"In today's market, we need to find new and more exciting ways to help our customers compete, and want to do business with us," says TWI Director of Marketing Ross Kogel Jr., TWI's director of marketing. "Every wholesaler is looking for new and inventive programs. We believe we have created a great one in partnership with Yokohama Tire."

With Yokohama's help, many dealers in the TWI program will receive the following incentives this year:

* cash back on every purchase,

* a trip to a resort in the United States,

* a credit card program for their store,

* an outdoor pole sign for their building,

* point-of-sale materials,

* a listing on the Yokohama Internet site.

Yokohama offers these incentives as a part of its nationwide "Yokohama Advantage" dealer program, which is offered in Michigan through TWI.
