"The shortage of large OTR tires has caused a jump in polyurethane flatproofing product sales," say officials from flatproof material supplier Arnco.
"Historically, flatproofing is widely used in steel mills, scrap yards, land fills, coal mines, factories, construction sites, airports and wherever the operating environment is hazardous to conventional pneumatic tires," says Arnco President Larry Carapellotti.
"It is now being used on larger OTR tires for virtually all applications because it dramatically extends the life of the tire."
