Seidel, CTNA part ways

June 8, 2005

Jim Seidel, director of passenger and light truck dealer sales for Continental Tire North America Inc., has left the company.

A CTNA spokesperson has told moderntiredealer.com that Seidel "elected" to leave in order to "pursue other business opportunities."

His departure is the latest in a series of top management shake-ups at CTNA and its parent company, Continental AG.

Nearly a month ago, Continental AG announced that CTNA CEO and President Martin de Louw, who also was the head of Continental AG's Passenger and Light Truck Tires division, left the company "by mutual agreement, due to differing views over (its) business strategy."

Continental AG Chairman Manfred Wennemer has replaced de Louw as head of Continental AG's Passenger and Light Truck unit, while Dr. Alan Hippe has replaced de Louw as CEO and president of CTNA.

In addition, Hippe has assumed responsbility for CTNA's passenger and light truck tire business in North America "for a limited period of time."

De Louw had run Continental AG's Passenger and Light Truck Tires unit since 2003.
