The Ohio Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association's (OTDRA) lobbying efforts have resulted in the removal of language from a state bill that would have increased tire disposal fees from $1 per tire to $2 per tire.
The fee would have been used to finance the Ohio Department of Natural Resources' Litter and Recycling Program, OTDRA Executive Director Gordon Gough told moderntiredealer.com earlier today.
OTDRA officials met with Ohio Senate and House members throughout the month of May in an attempt to strike down the proposed increase.
