Pirelli & Cie SpA recently received Ford Motor Co.'s Gold World Excellence Award for its superior performance in 2004.
The World Excellence Awards are given annually by Ford in recognition of its suppliers. They are based on quality, cost and delivery performance.
Fifty-two suppliers from 21 countries won gold, silver or "Recognition of Achievement" awards in various categories. Including Pirelli, 17 suppliers were awarded with the 'gold.'
"For achieving the highest level of performance, we gratefully recognize Pirelli Tires Co. for its exceptional contributions and effort" said Tony Brown, Ford senior vice president of global purchasing.
