FATA makes plans for upcoming convention and trade show

The Florida Automotive Trades Association (FATA) will hold its fourth annual convention and trade show July 29–31, 2005, at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate in ChampionsGate, Fla.

Bob Lanpher of McGee Tire Stores in Lakeland, Fla., this year's convention chairman, says, “This convention will address many of our members needs: the newest products and services, management training, industry trend information and family fun!”

On Friday morning, you’ll have a chance to play golf on one of the Omni’s world-class Greg Norman-designed golf courses at the FATA Golf Tournament.

Friday night will offer a “sneak peek” trade show and welcome reception for socializing and a first look at the trade show.

Saturday morning begins with the official opening of the trade show, which features sponsors such as as Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts, NAPA Auto Parts, CARQUEST Auto Parts, Federated Insurance, American Tire Distributors, Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. and Tenneco Automotive.

Industry seminars follow covering various industry and business topics.

The general session luncheon will feature keynote speaker Jeff Slutsky of Street Fighter Marketing. He will discuss how to advertise, market, promote and generally increase sales without spending a lot of money. He also will offer Street Fighter Marketing breakout sessions on Saturday, along with FATA’s wage and hour consultant Ray Tomlinson of Crowne Consulting Inc.

On Saturday night, FATA presents the annual meeting and awards dinner, including entertainment and dancing.

Full convention registration is $195 for the first registrant and $175 for additional attendees. Children under 13 are free. Register by May 31st and receive a $20 discount on the first attendee registration. Golf registration is $125 per player.
