RMA honors Goodyear plants for safety

March 11, 2005

The Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA), through its Safety and Health Improvement Program (SHIP), has honored six Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. plants for their efforts in promoting workplace safety.

Plants recognized include tire manufacturing facilities in Lawton, Okla.; Fayetteville, N.C.; and Topeka, Kan., plus Engineered Products factories in Hannibal, Mo.; Spring Hope, N.C.; and Norfolk, Neb.

The RMA's SHIP awards were established in 1981 and are presented to companies that demonstrate workplace safety improvements in incident rates for lost workdays, restricted and transfer cases, say Goodyear officials.
