Kumho sponsors automotive lifestyle events

Kumho Tire U.S.A. Inc. is co-sponsoring a series of automotive lifestyle events called Kumho Street Warriorz in conjunction with Clear Channel Entertainment.

"The series is designed as an alternative to traditional drag racing and is intended to take drag racing off the streets and onto the strip where it belongs," say Kumho officials.

"Racing will be purely for fun, with no trophies or prizes awarded."

The series "will feature a relaxed, festival atmosphere that promotes the automotive lifestyle. Each event will have live bands, DJs, a swimsuit competition, a car show, burn-out contests and drags to find out who has the loudest car stereo."

"The people at Clear Channel have a great track record of conducting successful events," says Mike Leverington, Kumho's director of marketing. "They're equally excited about this series and the opportunity to help build greater awareness of the Kumho brand."

The series will debut next month in Phoenix, Ariz.
