Bridgestone Firestone North American Tire LLC's (BFNT) LaVergne, Tenn., plant has been accepted into the United States Environmental Protection Agency's National Environmental Performance Track program.
In order to qualify, the plant fulfilled a number of requirements, including detailed record maintenance and enhancing its system to meet performance standards, say BFNT officials.
BFNT's Des Moines, Iowa; Warren County, Tenn.; Aiken County, S.C.; and Oklahoma City, Okla., plants were accepted into the program in 2000. BFNT's Bloomington, Ill., factory joined the program in 2003.
