The Independent Tire Dealers Group LLC (ITDG) is in the final stages of establishing a captive insurance company that will initially handle workers' compensation insurance.
Approximately 40 ITDG members will participate in the formation as charter members.
"These individuals will be owners of the Independent Innovative Captive Insurance Co.," say ITDG officials, who add that health and medical insurance may be added at a later date.
Once established, the program will be opened to companies outside the ITDG.
ITDG currently has 95 members representing 287 retail tire and service centers.
