New Cooper president receives call to Armes

Dec. 30, 2010

Christopher Ostrander will join Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. as president of its North America Tire Operations (NATO) on Jan. 17, 2011.

He will assume leadership of NATO, which produces consumer tires primarily for sale in the United States replacement market, from Cooper Chairman, CEO and President Roy Armes. Ostrander also will serve on the company's executive committee.

Ostrander joins Cooper from Eaton Corp., where he was most recently vice president and general manager of the Torque Control Products Division. In that position, his responsibilities included running global sales and marketing for the Commercial Vehicle and Aftermarket Group for Eaton Automotive. Ostrander joined Eaton in 2004 as director of sales for the Automotive Group.

Prior to joining Eaton, Ostrander held significant leadership roles with the United States Army Corps of Engineers and BOC Group PLC, a multinational manufacturer and distributor of industrial gases.

NATO includes the wholly owned Mickey Thompson subsidiary, which develops and distributes specialty and off-road tires. For more information, visit www.coopertire.com.
