Bernd Frangenberg, CEO and president of Continental Tire North America Inc. (CTNA), will retire March 31.
He will be replaced by Dr. Ulrich Wellen, who was named COO of CTNA's passenger and light truck tire (PLT) division last year. Wellen also spent time in the United States in the Continental AG subsidiary's research and development department in 1996.
Frangenberg will help with the transition through the company's first quarter.
