Hall of Famer Jerry White dies suddenly

Jerry White, chairman emeritus of White Tire Supply in Beaumont, Texas, died earlier today, according to White Tire President Tommy Reeves. Modern Tire Dealer will pass along more information as it becomes available.

White was inducted into the Tire Industry Hall of Fame on Nov. 1 prior to the start of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, Nev. His induction was part of the Tire Industry Association's Tire Industry Honors event.

White had 60 years of experience in the tire industry. He also was a founding member of the Texas Tire Dealers Association, and had served on numerous industry boards, including the board of the old National Tire Dealers and Retreaders Association (NTDRA).

He is survived by his wife of many years, Norma, and two sons.
