Companies make plans for Tyrexpo Asia 2011

Dec. 13, 2010

Indian tire makers Balkrishna Industries Ltd. (BKT) and CEAT have unveiled ambitious plans for their presence at Tyrexpo Asia 2011, show organizers state.

The show will be staged in the Singapore Expo Centre March 29-31. More than 130 exhibitors have already committed to taking part in the event, which is poised to be the largest edition in the show’s history.

Anshuman Singh, BKT’s senior manager - export marketing, says,  "As the only major show for tires in the region, Tyrexpo Asia gives us the right platform to launch our future plans for this market. BKT will be showcasing its newly developed range of OTR radial tires marketed under the sub-brand name of EarthMax.”

According to Sandeep Gulati, general manager – exports at CEAT, Tyrexpo Asia 2011 will be one of the first major occasions to talk to customers about its recent agreement with Pirelli to acquire the global rights to market tires under the CEAT brand across the world.

The exclusive ownership deal means that the brand can be marketed as CEAT in all territories except Europe, Latin America, Mexico and Turkey, where the agreement is effective from January 2012.

CEAT also is adding to its production capacity with the commissioning in October 2010 of a fourth manufacturing center, in Halol, India, to produce radial tires. The extra capacity will support sales of the CEAT and Altura brands domestically and to the 115 export markets already served by the company.

Stamford Tires also will be exhibiting in a front row booth in the exhibition hall. It will be promoting its recently launched Firenza ST-05A range of V- and W-rated high performance passenger car tires and its new wheel finish technology. This plasma high vacuum coating provides sports wheels with a choice of brilliant finishes in either stainless metallic chrome or black metallic chrome.

Pat Berriman, Stamford’s senior vice president, sales and marketing, says: “As Tyrexpo Asia is our ‘local’ show, it has a special meaning for Stamford Tires. We will be inviting customers from the region and globally to visit us at the exhibition and also tour our operating facilities and meet members of staff to build relationships.”

Tire repair company Monarch Vulcanising will be showcasing its line of equipment required for repairing the largest size tires -- the 70/70-57. The huge inside tire volume requires the new Monaflex M5054-32W cylinder airbag, the company says, and when used in conjunction with the OTR system, the largest tires can now be easily and economically repaired.

The company also will be showcasing its pneumatic portable OTR tire vulcanizing system and the OTRS for continuous sidewall repairs, as well as a new range of large cylinder air bags for the largest OTR tires.

Company president Toni Elderfield, says, “Monarch have been exhibiting with Tyrexpo Asia since its inception and always find it to be an excellent show which delivers real results every time. Singapore is an ideal location to attract customers from the booming markets in the region as well as being well placed to meet with many of our existing clients.”
