Monro Muffler Brake Inc.'s expansion continues. The Rochester, N.Y.-based chain has signed an agreement to buy the assets of Courthouse Tire, a dealership based in Fredericksburg, Va.
Courthouse Tire has three locations that generate annual sales of $5 million in total, according to Monro officials.
The acquisition is scheduled to close at the end of October. Monro says it will keep all of Courthouse Tire's employees.
In related news, Monro -- which is the fourth largest independent tire store chain in the U.S., according to MTD research -- hopes to complete one more acquisition by the end of 2011.
