Will Goodyear be in the black after 3Q results?

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. will report third quarter 2010 financial results before markets open on Thursday, Oct. 28.

An investor conference call will follow at 10 a.m. Participating in the call will be Richard Kramer, chairman and CEO; and Darren Wells, executive vice president and chief financial officer.

The company will post its financial and other related information on its investor relations Web site at investor.goodyear.com approximately 45 minutes prior to the commencement of the conference call.

Investors, members of the media and other interested persons can access the conference call on the Web site or via telephone by calling (706) 643-2869 before 9:55 a.m. on Oct. 28. A taped replay will be available later that day by calling (706) 645-9291; it will remain available on the Web site.

Goodyear reported net income of $28 million on net sales of $4.5 billion for the second quarter ended June 30, 2010. That compared to a net loss of $221 million on sales of $3.9 billion the same period last year.

For the first six months of this year, Goodyear recorded a net loss of $19 million on sales of $8.8 billion.
