Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. says its radial aircraft tire capacity will double by early 2011.
"In view of recent structural changes in the marketplace, we recognized that the demand for radial aircraft tires would continue to increase," says Bert Aertssen, Goodyear Aviation's global general manager.
"Therefore, we jumped ahead of the growth curve and launched in 2008 an important expansion project" that will result in the capacity expansion.
In related news, Goodyear announced it will have the radial fitment on the Gulfstream G650 business jet when the vehicle enters service in 2012.
