What truck tire brand is the best? MTD tells all!

Oct. 13, 2010

What medium truck tire brand is the best in terms of quality? The tire industry now has an answer, straight from the mouths of the people who work with these products every day: independent commercial truck tire dealers.

Earlier this year, Modern Tire Dealer, through its 2010 Truck Tire Survey, asked more than 7,000 independent truck tire dealers, “How would you rate the following truck tire brands in terms of product quality, with 5 being ‘excellent’ and 1 being ‘poor?’”

Dealers were given a choice of 37 medium truck tire brands, ranging from well-known, first-tier names like Bridgestone, Michelin and Goodyear to lesser-known brands such as Freestar, Warrior and Taurus.

What brands did dealers pick? Find out in the October 2010 issue of MTD, available now!

The issue also examines the top truck tire brands based on their retreadability. In addition, it looks at the top attributes that dealers expect from their truck tire suppliers, as well as the truck tire brands that are the least familiar to dealers.

What brands are the least retreadable? Dealers pulled no punches there, either.

And finally, the special report examines what fleets want out of their truck tires. You may be surprised by the answers!

It’s all in the October edition of MTD, which contains several other features that are of interest to commercial tire dealers, including results of MTD’s recent Commercial Tire Dealer Survey, MTD’s 2010 Top 25 Commercial Tire Dealers list, the latest on the General truck tire program’s makeover, an exclusive forecast from one of the trucking industry’s most respected analysts, and more.
