Goodyear rolls out Dunlop Rover H/T

Oct. 8, 2010

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. is debuting its Dunlop Rover H/T all-season tire for SUVs and light trucks.

The tire is targeted toward such vehicles as the Chevrolet Silverado, Ford Escape, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Toyota Tundra. It offers wet and dry traction and features: V-Lock Grooves, which help deliver enhanced all-season grip through the use of numerous biting edges in a “shark tooth” design; a sleek shoulder profile; Dimensionally Stable Polyester; a stylish sidewall design; and Versaload Technology to help maximize the amount of the tire’s footprint that comes in contact with the road for consistent traction, handling, ride comfort and tread wear under various load conditions.

The Dunlop Rover H/T is backed by a 60,000-mile tread life limited warranty on 25 P-metric sizes, and a 45,000-mile tread life limited warranty on 8 LT sizes. The 33-size lineup will be complete by the end of 2010.

“Research indicates that most pickup and SUV owners don’t take their vehicles off the highway, so they are looking for dependable all-season grip and long tread wear from their tires,” says Jonathan Lee, Dunlop general manager. “The new Dunlop Rover H/T is a choice that helps provide a blend of confident traction, a smooth ride and long wear.”

The Rover H/T also comes with the Dunlop 30-Day Pledge, which lets drivers try out the tires for 30 days; if not 100% satisfied, they can exchange the tires for another set of Dunlops.

The new tire simplifies the Dunlop lineup by replacing two tires -- the Dunlop Rover A/T and Dunlop Grandtrek AT20, says Lee.
