Order Reprints

Are you selling as many tires and as much automotive service as you could be? Since sales techniques tend to be subjective, it can't hurt to give you more advice, straight from the mouth of an industry icon.

The late Bernie Kovach passed along his list of 13 practical resolutions to better selling in his "Publisher's Notes" in the March 1977 issue of Modern Tire Dealer.

In his latest blog, MTD Editor Bob Ulrich revisits the first eight "suggestions," as Bernie referred to them. Are his ideas on target or off-base? Find out by clicking "How to sell, part one: eight practical suggesstions for your 'salesmakers."

"How to sell, part two" will run later this week. If you agree or disagree with the suggestions, let us know by commenting on the blogs. Better yet -- let us know what selling tips you use!
