Class 8 truck orders continue to rise

Sept. 21, 2010

Net orders for Class 8 commercial trucks were up 15% last month over August 2009 numbers, according to ACT Research.

For the three months ended Aug. 31, Class 8 orders totaled 40,033, an increase of 42% over the same period in 2009.

Net orders were especially strong in Mexico, according to ACT officials, "likely due to increased manufacturing and trade. It is possible Mexico is benefiting from some 're-shoring' of manufacturing that previously occurred overseas."
