Nokian Tyres plc has introduced the Nokian Hakka Green summer tire. Its rolling resistance is 15% lower than that of its predecessor, the Nokian Hakka H.
The Hakka Green contains the company's proprietary Hakka Green Silica tread compound, which "ensures excellent wet grip at all temperatures," according to Nokian officials. The compound contains Nordic pine oil, which reduces friction caused by intermolecular movement.
Other features include Nokian's Silent Groove Design, which reduces drag; semi-round cavities on the sides of longitudinal ribs to control air flow for extra noise reduction, special "Venturi grooves" on the tire's inner and outer shoulders to prevent aquaplaning; and others.
