In that issue, MTD Managing Editor Lori Mavrigian interviews Nate Zolman, president of Zolman Tire, a Misahawaka, Ind.-based independent tire dealer who has transformed alignments into one of his company's biggest profit generators.

Alignments are big business for tire dealers. According to MTD's 2009-2010 Automotive Service Survey, independent tire dealers in the U.S. performed close to 21 million alignments in 2009, representing more than $1.7 million in sales.
