'Green' dealer to share secrets at TIA symposium

Sept. 9, 2010

How do you run a "green" tire dealership? Matt Curry of Curry's Auto Service will tell you how during the Tire Industry Association's (TIA) upcoming Environmental Symposium.

Curry's session, "Eco-Friendly Tire and Auto Care," will discuss how his Virginia-based shop recycles oil, antifreeze and other harmful substances while using other methods to promote eco-friendliness, including employing a fleet of hybrid cars that customers can use as loaner vehicles.

"In just a little over 11 years, Curry's Auto Service hs become a thriving, five-outlet operation that sees the value in going green," says Dick Gust, co-chair of TIA's Environmental Advisory Council. "If you want to make your operation more environmentally friendly, this is an unbelievable opportunity to learn from not only a leader, but a peer, as well."

Curry's Auto Service was recently named to Inc. magazine's "5,000 Fastest-Growing Companies" list.

The TIA Environmental Symposium, which will be held Sept. 30-Oct. 2 in Ocean City, Md., also will feature presentations by several tire manufacturers. For more information, click on these links:
