Cooper helps roll out tire safety program

Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. has teamed with the National Safety Council (NSC) to launch a three-year tire education program.

The campaign will include a tire safety brochure that Cooper will encourage independent tire dealers who sell its products throughout the United States and Canada to distribute to customers.

Cooper also will provide tire safety information to local schools' driver education programs.

"Tire safety is one of the most important messages we can bring to the public," says Cooper Chairman, President and CEO Tom Dattilo.

The NSC is a non-profit international public service organization "dedicated to reducing injuries in the workplace, on the road, in homes and (in) the community," according to a Cooper release.
