'Right to Repair': one step closer to passage

July 26, 2010

The federal Right to Repair Act is closer to becoming a reality than ever before, thanks to Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts Senate unanimously passed its version of the Motor Vehicle Owners' Right to Repair Act on July 6. If the rest of the legislative and executive branches follow suit, the bill will become law. That could have a direct effect on the federal version of the bill.

At least one member of the Massachusetts Right to Repair Coalition, an independent tire dealer, strongly believes it will pass this year.

Modern Tire Dealer Editor Bob Ulrich looks at the decision in his latest blog. To read about the need for such a bill, read "Right to Repair: The dominoes are about to fall," and let us know what you think by leaving a comment!
