July 22, 2010

Several independent tire dealerships that appear on this year's MTD 100 list are planning to add locations.

Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based Hennelly Tire & Auto Inc. dba The Tire Choice, which opened a new store in South Tampa last month, plans to open three new locations by the end of the year. "We are back to opening up a new store every six to eight weeks," says Chairman and CEO Dan Hennelly.

Hennelly Tire is number 41 on this year's MTD 100.

Scranton, Pa.-based Jack Williams Tire Co. Inc., number 45 on the MTD 100, is eyeing additional retail and wholesale locations.

Grismer Tire Co., which is headquartered in Dayton, Ohio, and is 49th on the MTD 100, is building a store in Columbus, Ohio, its fifth location in that rapidly growing city.

Massillon, Ohio-base Ziegler Tire & Supply Co., 64th on the MTD 100, says it will look at expanding once again as the economy improves.

Number 67 on this year's MTD 100, Evans Tire & Service Center Inc. in Carlsbad, Calif., wants to add stores in metropolitan San Diego.

Morpheus Investments dba Tire Works Total Car Care of Las Vegas, Nev., number 83 on the list, says it will open its 14th outlet, a retail store in Warm Springs, Nev., within the next month.
