July 13, 2010

Hankook Tire Co. has opened its Global Education Center inside the company's plant in Daejon, South Korea.

The facility is intended to "enhance the capabilities of employees for production and functional posts at (the company's) plants in Korea, China, and Hungary, as well as plants to be established in the future," say Hankook officials.

"Through the Global Education Center, Hankook expects to strengthen global production network collaboration."

The center can accommodate 250 trainees a day and boasts seven indoor and outdoor training spaces, including a large auditorium, a computer room and other amenities. The indoor space contains practice rooms for training on machinery and models. Training will be conducted using videos and other methods.

The center also contains a library of specialized books about electricity and "other references so trainees can engage in theoretical study."
