Goodyear stores to use BADA steel weights

July 12, 2010

Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. will use BADA steel wheel weights at its company-owned and Just Tires outlets. BADA weights are sold by Hennessy Industries.

"This is a big win-win for BADA and Goodyear," says Kevin Keefe, Hennessy's vice president of marketing. (Hennessy has partnered with Myers Tire Supply to distribute BADA weights to Goodyear stores.)

"When a company of Goodyear's size and stature chooses BADA steel as a preferred alternative to lead (weights), it reinforces the many technical and environmental benefits of BADA's unique and patented wheel weight designs."

Goodyear, which has more than 600 company stores, has already made the transition from lead weights to steel weights in California, and plans to begin its national transition to steel weights this month.

"Like many large companies, we believe that offering eco-friendly products is part of our responsibility to our customers," says Jerry Alessia, Goodyear Retail's director of store support.
