Commercial truck sales surge in China

July 12, 2010

Sales of heavy-duty commercial vehicles in China surged to more than 267,000 units during the first quarter of 2010, a 165% increase from 1Q 2009, according to ACT Research.

The trucking industry analysis firm's recently published China Commercial Vehicle Outlook report says "the commercial vehicle forecast (in China) calls for continued strong growth in heavy-duty vehicles for the second quarter."

However, demand is expected to "cool" as the year winds down, according to the report.
