Falken Tire Corp. has added a new section,, to its social media Web portal,

"The idea behind the Falken Fanatic page is to better connect with our customers and offer them a place where they can express their enthusiasm for motorsports, automobiles and Falken," says Andrew Hoit, the company's director of marketing.

Enthusiasts will be encouraged to upload pictures of their vehicles, plus Falken-related videos and artwork.

"As part of the interactivity goal, people can sign up to become a 'fanatic,' and enter a sweepstakes to win a bi-weekly drawing for a $25 Starbucks gift card," say Falken officials.

James Yim, Falken's creative manager, notes that "social networking continues to play an increasingly important role in generating leads and sales of products, as well as simply maintaining a current conversation with enthusiasts...  we need to be on that cutting edge by expanding our marketing efforts to educate, as well as entertain, customers."
