Kumho Tire USA and its stable of top notch drivers started the 2010 TORC Season with a bang with five podium finishes including a dominating win by Ricky Johnson in Pro 2WD at Crandon International Off-Road Raceway in Crandon, Wisconsin.  The “Big House”, as Crandon is known to race fans, provided the perfect setting to start the 2010 TORC Season in front of more than 20,000 race enthusiasts and Kumho Tire’s talented drivers did not disappoint.

Saturday’s Round 1 saw Kumho driver Ricky Johnson start from the pole position and go wire to wire for the win in Pro 2WD.   In Pro 4x4 head banging action veteran Kumho driver Scott Douglas made it to the podium with a strong 3rd place finish.

Round 2 on Sunday got off to a fantastic start for Kumho Tire as Steve Barlow and Scott Douglas finished 2nd and 3rd respectively in the Pro 4x4 race.  It was great start to the 2010 season for Steve Barlow and a second podium finish in two days for Scott Douglas.  In Pro 2WD action Ricky Johnson continued his hot streak with a 3rd place finish; another day and another podium finish for living legend Ricky Johnson.  Kumho driver Chad Hord, moving up from the Pro Light class, finished a close 4th in his first Pro 2WD race behind Ricky Johnson. Kumho Tire’s newest and youngest driver, Luke Johnson, got his season off to a good start at Crandon by finishing 8th in Round 1. Luke will be a force to be reckoned with in the future as he gains race experience.

“Kumho Tire is proud to sponsor such a talented group of drivers.  We had great success in Crandon and will work feverishly to continue the momentum going into the next race in Bark River.  “Race proven and street ready” is our mantra for this season and we’re out to prove that our tires are the best for the track and for the street.” said Rick Brennan, VP of Marketing at Kumho Tire USA.
