Bridgestone Corp. has been named Supplier of the Year by the Boeing Co. Bridgestone supplies tires for four of the company's planes, including the Boeing 747.
Bridgestone was one of 14 companies honored by Boeing. "Selection was based on stringent performance criteria for quality, delivery performance, cost, environmental initiatives, customer service and technical expertise," say Bridgestone officials.
The new Boeing 787 Dreamliner is scheduled to go into commission equipped with Bridgestone radial aircraft tires.
