Bridgestone to add capacity in Indonesia

May 25, 2010

Bridgestone Corp. will expand the capacity of its passenger and light truck tire plant in Indonesia by approximately 3,000 units per day.

The 4.3 billion yen investment will boost the plant's total daily production capacity to 29,400 tires by the first half of 2012.

The 11-year-old factory operates under the company's P.T. Bridgestone Tire Indonesia banner. A percentage of its production goes to North America an Europe.

Company officials say Bridgestone "will continue to build or expand production facilities on a global basis... to satisfy worldwide demand."
